I'm excited about joining NZDDA, and the new challenge it offers me. We have a serious Drug and Alcohol problems in New Zealand, and I am dedicated to helping reduce the effects they have on society and in particular safety in the workplace.
I was educated at Westlake Boys High School, and entered the
New Zealand Police in 1986, working in the greater Auckland area. During this time
Alcohol and Drugs played a major part in most of my Police work, and I gained considerable experience in dealing
with issues in this field. In 1998 I retired as a Sergeant, having completed 12 years
service.
In Tauranga, I have been running my own successful Tiling
business for the past 12 years.
Outside of work I can be found at the beach, in the
surf. Either in my role as a Life-guard, rowing Surf-boats, surfing (if it's pumping) or as a member
of the TECT Rescue Helicopter Squad. I also find time to referee Rugby (Go the Bay!) and mountain-bike
with my family.
I am married and have two children.

I'm from from Whangarei originally and was educated at Kamo High School and then got a Diploma of Business Studies Northland Polytech
I joined the NZ Police in 1993, spending 10
years in Auckland, as a Detective in CIB and involved in investigating
"tinnie" houses and meth houses in late 90's / early 00's. Some
work with clan-labs when they were pretty rare and the Clan Lab Team had only just
formed. Back to uniform as a Sergeant and ran Northland Traffic Alcohol Group (booze
bus) before transferring as a Sergeant to Rotorua. I eventually left the Police after serving 15 years.
I enjoy living and working in the BOP and making positive changes to people who have Drug & Alcohol issues
