I am a builder by trade. In 1997 I joined the New Zealand Police and completed 8 years service with my role including working on Organised Crime operations relating to the illicit drug industry. I was also involved with several high profile homicide cases where methamphetamine use was a significant factor in the offence. On leaving the Police I returned to the construction industry and was immediately faced with the daily issue of having to work around people who I had seen using drugs on site, and who were operating power and pneumatic tools, and also machinery. The seeds of the necessity of workplace safety had been planted, and in April 2007 I joined NZDDA where I have since had the satisfaction of contributing to our significant local growth. I have two beautiful daughters with my wife Abbie. I enjoy keeping fit and am a keen hunter when time permits.

I joined NZDDA in August 2009 after 8 years of service in the New Zealand Police. I have good experience in dealing with people demonstrating drug induced behaviour having served with the Armed Offenders Squad and Police Dog Section. I have a diploma in Agriculture and am currently in the process of completing my Bachelor of Applied Science. I have a very keen interest in the agriculture sector and try to get on the farm when I can. I am married to Eliza and have two fantastic sons Fletcher and Corbyn.
