John Galliven - General Manager

I joined NZDDA in August 2009 after 13 years of service with the New Zealand Police. Three of those 13 years as a Drug Squad Detective. I have considerable experience with regards to the illicit drug culture having worked on a number of Organised Crime operations relating to the importation/manufacturing and supplying of such commodities within the New Zealand community and now more specifically drugs and their effects on Health and Safety within the workplace. I am committed to providing education to employers with regards to their obligations under the Health and Safety Act and offering advice with regards to getting arobust Drug and Alcohol Policy up and running to fulfill the employers Health and Safety obligations. I have a Diploma in Policing and also Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition.

Outside Work.

I am married to Jacqui and we have two beautiful young girls, Grace and Sophie.   I am a former multi-International and  National bodybuilding champion and if you can't find me at work I'll be working out in the gym (when my girls allow me).
