John Galliven - General Manager

I joined NZDDA in August 2009 after 13 years of service with the New Zealand Police. Three of those 13 years as a Drug Squad Detective. I have considerable experience with regards to the illicit drug culture having worked on a number of Organised Crime operations relating to the importation/manufacturing and supplying of such commodities within the New Zealand community and now more specifically drugs and their effects on Health and Safety within the workplace. I am committed to providing education to employers with regards to their obligations under the Health and Safety Act and offering advice with regards to getting a robust Drug and Alcohol Policy up and running to fulfill the employers Health and Safety obligations. I have a Diploma in Policing and also Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition.

Outside Work.

I am married to Jacqui and we have two beautiful young girls, Grace and Sophie.   I am a former multi-International and  National bodybuilding champion and if you can't find me at work I'll be working out in the gym (when my girls allow me).
